About Me

I'm a passionate student of what it means to be human. It's a lifelong endeavor, requiring active listening, dynamic communication, and presence. Most of all, it demands the humility to accept that we're always in the process of learning together and there is never a single "right" answer to the problems we face. I strive to remain humble as we come to know one another and collaborate on working through some of life's challenges.

SInce 2004, I have practiced individual and group psychotherapy in multiple settings including private homes, foster homes, skilled nursing facilities, schools, hospitals, and outpatient clinics. I also have many years of crisis intervention experience in adult, pediatric, and emergency wards. For almost fifteen years, I served as psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and staff instructor as part of a talented, multi-disciplinary team in the Department of Child Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Kaiser Permanente, Oakland.

My Approach

I take a developmental approach in working with individuals, couples, and families. I allow the context of your current circumstances, the therapeutic relationship you seek, and the treatment goals you identify to inform how we work together over the course of your care.

I draw from various theoretical orientations including Psychodynamic, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Family Systems. My practice is grounded in foundations of Developmental Psychology, Self Psychology, Educational Psychology, and Clinical Social Work.
